A3 Launcher Wont Download Mods

Posted on  by admin

Have you checked off the.esp files on the main menu. There are little boxes like in which need to be checked off. I don't personally use the mod manager to download my mods (though a lot of people do and it really is a great utility) so I am not even sure how that process works.I am not sure if you have stumbled across this yet but the Nexus hosts a full step by step guide to using the mod manager. You can find it here:It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it installing mods becomes really easy. Hopefully it was something as simple as not checking off the esp/esm boxes. (also worth asking; since skyrim is on its own drive do you have the mods also going to that drive?).

Not every mod starts instantly - some you need to do something in the game - such as making an item at a forge. As we don't know what mods you are having a problem with we can't say for sure if this is what you are running into. Other mods require something else to work, such as SKSE, another mod or a particular DLC.Instead of a frenzy of downloading and installing mods, try with ONE simple mod first. Be sure it doesn't need anything else, and is immediately available in the game. If that doesn't work troubleshoot that one instead of immediately jumping to another mod. If the read me says it needs something else to work - it won't work without that something else. When you first download a mod using NMM, it should appear ONLY in the MODS tab. The block to the left of the mod will be empty.

When you're done, download it by clicking the gigantic red Download button at the top of the page. Extract and save it in your Arma directory as @Exile where you have every other Arma mod you've ever downloaded. Go to your Steam library, select Arma 3, click Play. Enable @Exile in the steam launcher, click Play. I have uninstalled and installed a3 launcher many times and when i download mods it stops and says it needs to verify, and when i click verify it doesn't do anything. Some mods just stop half way thru. Somebody know how to fix it. Once you have the file in your Arma 3 folder you will go to your Arma 3 launcher and then go to mods. There is a button at the top of the launcher that says “Local Mod”. You want to click on this and then find the “@ModName” folder and then select that folder. This will add the mod to your launcher to you can start it whenever you want.

That means it is ready to be activated. Double click on it and it will become active - a check mark will appear in the block - AND the mod will now appear on the Plugins tab also.

It should also have a check mark there. If not, click on the block to make it active.

Some mods have multiple choices and only one should be activated at a time. Here is a link to my troubleshooting blog. This is updated often so come back later for more.If you use any of this and have some success - or even if nothing works - please post back here what you did that worked or didn't work. That kind of information can be invaluable to other members having the same or similar problems - And to me in fixing any problems in the blog. @bben46 I'll check it out when I get home. I'm currently using my phone to type this.

I have tried only installing one mod into my game and with no success. I can't remember all the mods I tried installing off the top of my head, but I remember I tried installing CBBEv3 and ApachiiSkyHair(I believe that's what it's called). I don't know if those need something like SKSE or not, but I will check your page and see if I can get anything from it. I'll post back here once I try making some fixes. When I attempt to install my mod(s), it tells me that my installation has been successful, but when I look at my plugins tab, there are no mods there! The only mod that appears there is ApachiiSkyHair, and even though I have the box checked, it still won't work in game. When I'm at the Skyrim launcher, and I click on Data Files, there is nothing in there.

Are my mods that I 'installed' supposed to be in there?EDIT: I don't know if this could be of any help, but my Skyrim version is 1.7.7.0.6 and my NMM version is 0.21.0.Also, whenever I install a mod using the NMM, my plugins.txt duplicates a skyrim.esm. So whenever I 'install' a new mod, I have to go into that file and delete the duplicate skyrim.esm so my game can even run.

I don't know if any of this could have anything to do with my problem, but I just thought I'd throw it out there just in case.Edited by Whorax, 05 October 2012 - 09:24 PM. When NMM downloads a mod it does NOT activate it - it should show up under the mods tab - meaning it is ready to be activated.

There should be a empty box to the left of the mod name on the MODS tab. If you double click on the mod name there, it should activate it - a check mark will appear in the box, and the mod will appear on the plugins tab to show that it should be in the game. The skyrim.esm should not be duplicated - that may be a different problem.Mods not showing up in the game data launcher may happen when that feature is disabled in your game (Greyed out) - covered in my troubleshooting blog. This is updated often so come back later for more.If you use any of this and have some success - or even if nothing works - please post back here what you did that worked or didn't work. It seems completely functional to me, it's just that my mods aren't showing up in there when I supposedly 'activate' them.EDIT: Okay, I don't know if this is my problem or not, but in NMM, I have my Skyrim Directory set to 'C:Program Files (x86)The Elder Scrolls V SkyrimThe Elder Scrolls V Skyrim'. When I manually install the mods I install them into 'C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonskyrimData'. Should this be what my Skyrim Directory is in NMM?EDIT2: Okay I don't know what I did, but somehow I got ApachiiSkyHair to come up in my Data Files in my launcher.Edited by Whorax, 05 October 2012 - 10:41 PM.

I am having the same problem. When i updated the launcher to 1.07 it has stopped working completely.

It seems that no mods are being downloaded. FML is failing to work so it just starts vanilla minecrafti cannot seem to get the 1.06 launcher back (despite backups) so now FTB is just a complete fail. Please fix this issue ASAPEdit: I have wiped all files 4 times. And tried every possible combination of option adjustments. Still nothingEdit 2: ok i have managed to find a work around.copy your Saves folder from FTB/FTBBETAA/minecraft if you havent already.when trying to install the mods it gives you a link in the console to a ftbbetaa.zip file. Download this file separately through your browser.1.

Remove your FTB directory2. Launch the FTB launcher and choose force update in options.3. Close the 'downloading mod pack' window when it opens.4.

Minecraft.jar (and other files) should download to the bin folder5. Close FTB launcher6.

Open the ftbbetaa.zip file you got earlier7. Extract all files in the.minecraft directory to your FTB/FTBBETAA/minecraft folder8. Extract the instMods folder to your FTB/FTBBETAA folder9. Replace your Saves folder in FTB/FTBBETAA/minecraft10. Run FTBLauncher again11. FML should launch and tidy thing up12.
