Activate ‘preserve source format’ so that it keeps the 1080p capture from your PC. Next you are going to unplug your monitor’s HDMI cable and plug it into the Elgato’s HDMI input.
Take your second HDMI cable and plug it into the Elgato’s HDMI output and the other end into your monitor. Your monitor should now turn on. Drivers should be automatically detect and install immediately. Once you have sorted out the nitty gritty, you can start recording the game. You are going to press the big red button at the bottom of the programme to start recording your game. Keep the programme minimized while you play as this makes it easier.
