Hey guys, I got a good deal on a Logitech G29 (about $10 cheaper than the cheapest G27 I could find).

I have been playing DIRT Rally with it and although there is no direct support for it yet, It recognizes it as a G27 and I can map controls and it has force feedback. However, I tried to play Race 07, and although it recognized it as a G27, when I was in the game the wheel seemed to be trying to lock itself to the center. It would resist turning the wheel and then when you let go it would turn back to the center. Also, even when I did force the wheel to turn, it didn't register as wheel movement in the game.Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get it working?

I've been googling and there seems to be very little info on using the G29 on the PC.Also, am I going to run into trouble with all older games? I thought anything that would work with the G27 would work with the G29 straight away.Thanks. Thanks, but its not looking good from the forums that I have been looking at. Seems PC support is not their priority, because Project Cars is literally the only game that has any kind of dedicated support for the G29. And there is no options in the drivers that will help it work for older games.I bought it from Dick Smith (Australia) but their return policy doesn't look too great.

I think I would have a hard time convincing them that having only one game on PC with support constitutes more than 'changing your mind'. My suggestion is.Best $10 I ever spent.Download the trial, and see if you can make it do what you need.My experience with it:I was sick of using my Xbox 360 Controller's left stick for brake and throttle, but Grand Prix 4 didn't let me use the triggers because they share an axis.I spent hours Googling for a way to split the triggers onto two axis; I must have tried half a dozen silly little utilities (Xpadder etc.) and nothing worked. Then I saw a suggestion for PGP so I thought 'Why not?'

Downloaded, installed, and spent 10 minutes not only splitting my Triggers, but adding a rumble effect to the left trigger, assigning up and down on the left stick as digital buttons for gear shifting and mapped my D-pad to keyboard keys for Brake Balance and Diff settings.Worked beautifully.Further, GP4 doesn't have an in-game Deadzone setting, but PGP allowed me to set one.Bought it straight away. Its infuriating that logitech removed the one option that would make this wheel compatible with 4x the number of games than it is now, the combine axis/pedal option.
