Elephants should destroy infantry but thats a big joke. 1 troop of galation royal guard or 1 or 2 troops of citizen cav ( both from egypt) kill them totaly easy. Elephants big useless ( same with chariots) I wouldn't say useless just that like most things the ai doesn't know how to use them, if used correctly they can win a battle single-handedly. Currently only Pontus and Rome(in the form of auxiliaries) can recruit the Indian war elephants, though the mighty Seleucids are rumored to be released in the near future will have them. The Indian War elephant is essentially the same as the African War Elephant, but with more help.-End.
